Minut, LintasUtara.com – During the COVID-19, people have complied with the government’s appeal for not gathering in large numbers or staying too long in a crowded place.
But having stayed at home for around three or four months really made us bored somehow, and even in this New Normal, maybe the hectic because of the pile of works make us numb. We need a place to unwind and relax, to forget about this pandemic while hoping that our life will get back to normal.
Also, for a traveler who wants to find a spot for spending leisure time while adding up your new pictures collection after the trip, an amazing alternative spot will be the best choice.
In Airmadidi, the capital city of North Minahasa District, you can go to some spots to unwind and relax. If you want to choose hiking, you can pick up Mount Klabat as your destination, though you need to stretch your muscles cause it is one of the highest Mount in North Sulawesi Province, or if you want to let the wind of the sea softly blows your mind and body, you can go to Likupang sub-district, some famous tourism sites are there, such as Pal Beach, Pulisan Beach, and Gangga Island.
But if you want to find the spot to watch the sunset while practicing the skills of photography, as what I was doing (amateur), there is an alternative spot to be visited. It is a hill in Tumaluntung village, Airmadidi. Perhaps it is one of the best spots in Airmadidi to watch the sunset.
On the top of the hill, the sunset on the west feels so close to you. You can watch the round shape, with its typical gold color, surrounded by the orange, which is very captivating and entertaining. The clouds act as a canvas and absorb and reflect the sun’s rays making the colors even more vibrant, with the horizon of the blue sky.
Moreover, from the top, you can also clearly catch the view of the parts of Airmadidi city, the Klabat Mount, the highway, and the glimpse of the Manado Tua Islands.
It is not so difficult to find this place. From Klabat University, you can go straight to Tumaluntung village. You don’t have to worry cause there is only a one-way, so you will not be lost. You will find the bridge above the new highway to Bitung (see Mount Klabat image), then you can clearly see the hill.
